Please be informed that at EU level (ministers of Justice and Home Affairs) decision was taken regarding the full application of the provisions of the Schengen acquis in the Republic of Croatia.

Border controls at Croatian land and maritime borders with Schengen members (including land border with Hungary) has been abolished since January 1, 2023. Border controls concerning Croatian airports for passengers from the Schengen area has been abolished since March 26, 2023.

As a general rule, from 1st of January 2023 third country nationals should not be expected to be in possession of Schengen visa for entering Hungary from Croatia if they hold relevant permits for stay longer than 90 days issued by Croatian authorities.

 

Please be informed that as the Republic of Croatia is a Schengen Member State from 1st January 2023, our Consular Department – as a general rule – no longer issues Schengen visas.
