Szabolcs Takács, Hungarian Secretary of State for EU policies attended the 5-6th June Zagreb cohesion ministerial conference held under the Croatian presidency of the Central European Initiative. In his assessment of the central theme of the conference - cohesion – Szabolcs Takács underlined that together with other Central-European and Baltic Member States, Hungary considers worrying the European Commission’s proposals for the EU’s next multiannual budget, which aim at unjustifiably cutting one of the EU’s most important investment policy. On the Future of Europe topic, during the conference the Hungarian State Secretary argued in favour of providing adequate future financing for the European integration of the Western Balkan countries. During his Zagreb visit, Szabolcs Takács held bilateral talks with Gabrijela Zalac, Croatian Minister for regional Development and EU funds and Andrea Metelko-Zgombic, State Secretary for European Affairs.
