On 24 September, 2020 prof. dr. Miklós Kásler, Hungarian Minister of Human Resources, and Ms. Nina Obuljen Korzinek, Croatian Minister of Culture and Media, jointly opened the large-scale ARS ET VIRTUS - Hungary-Croatia - 800 Years of Common Cultural Heritage. exhibition, in one of the most prestigious galleries in Zagreb and Croatia, the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery. Prime Minister Andrej  Plenkovic the main patron of the exhibition also visited the event and viewed the exhibition. Hungarian cultural and artistic presentations of a similar scale have never taken place in Croatia: a total of 308 works of art have been exhibited, of which 106 objects come from Hungarian collections. Some of the exhibited works of art are invaluable (eg the silver coffin of St. Simon from Zadar, Miklós Zrínyi's battle helmet and saber, paintings by Mihály Munkácsy and Vlaho Bukovac, the oldest Croatian flag survived from collection of the Austrian Esterházy family).

The exhibition is a joint project of the Hungarian National Museum and Galerija Klovićevi Dvori in Zagreb. The aim of the large-scale exhibition is to present the Croatian-Hungarian cultural and cultural-historical relations in a broad and illustrative way, thus strengthening the cohesion and mutual respect of the two nations.

The exhibition in Zagreb will be open for almost 2 months, until November 22, 2020. In Budapest the exhibition is scheduled to be open in the Hungarian National Museum from December 16, 2020 until March 15, 2021.
