On January 8, 2021 Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó assured Croatia and the Croatian nation of the solidarity and compassion of the Hungarian people in the earthquake hit Petrinja and expressed his condolences on the deaths. Hungary is helping to rebuild a school and a church.

The Minister announced that Mol Plc, Croatia's largest foreign investor, will help the earthquake victims in Sisak-Moslovacka County with fifty heated residential and six sanitary containers.

The containers worth of 45 million HUF can serve as temporary accommodation for all those who had lost their homes. The first two residential containers were handed over in person by Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Tomo Medved and Gordan Grlic Radman, Minister of Foreign and European Affaires.
