Entering Hungary - Embassy of Hungary

Entering Hungary

Please note, that The Republic of Croatia started to fully apply the Schengen regime on 1th January 2023. This means that border checks on all internal land and sea borders of the Republic of Croatia were abolished by the Croatian authorities. There are no more border checks on the borders with Hungary, since Hungary is also a Member State of the Schengen Agreement (as of 21 December, 2007.)

As a general rule, from 1st of January 2023 third country nationals staying on the territory of the Republic of Croatia should not be expected to be in possession of Schengen visa for entering Hungary from Croatia if they hold relevant permits for stay longer than 90 days issued by Croatian authorities.

Please be informed that as the Republic of Croatia is a Schengen Member State from 1st January 2023, Consular Department of the Embassy of Hungary in Zagreb – as a general rule – no longer issues Schengen visas.
