Opening of the Sveti Ivan Zelina Museum’s exhibition “Nikola Zrinski Sigetski and Siege of Szigetvár” took place on 8th February 2017 in the Hungarian Institute in Zagreb. Zelina Museum’s exhibition gives great overview of time period in which Szigetvár’s hero lived. The exhibition on panels is enriched with the collection of old weapons placed in display cases, a property of Croatian collector Tomislav Aralica. Sveti Ivan Zelina Museum provided the exhibition to the Hungarian Institute in Zagreb.
The exhibition was opened by Academician Zvonko Kusić, president of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, who is also the president of the Croatian Committee for commemorating 450th anniversary of Siege of Szigetvár and Dr. Hóvári János, president of Miklós Zrínyi Memorial Committee in Hungary
The opening speeches were followed by Alan Kanski's performance on the concert cimbalom, who is the Zelina-born folk musician and orchestra leader of famous Lado National Folk Dance ensemble of Croatia. The exhibition will remain open until 3 March 2017 on working days between 10 AM and 16 PM.
