Third-country nationals who need a visa to enter the Schengen Member States, including Hungary, must submit their application in person. The Consular Department of the Hungarian Embassy in Zagreb is responsible for receiving the request if the main destination is Hungary, or if Hungary is the first country to enter the Schengen zone in case of transit. Please contact the Consular Department of the Hungarian Embassy in Zagreb via mail at consulate.zgb@mfa.gov.huin order to arrange your appointment for visa application. We kindly ask you to indicate the destination and the purpose of your entry in your e-mail.

Documents required to apply for a Schengen visa are as follows.

In case of transit through Hungary:

 

‒ a completed visa application form,

‒ a valid passport with at least two blank pages,

‒ a valid Croatian residence card,

‒ a visa to enter the country of destination, if required

‒ 1 photo in colour, less than 3 months old with the same dimensions as usual for identity documents,

‒ the proof of means of transport,

‒ the proof of health insurance: European Health Insurance Card or travel medical insurance which is valid for the territory of the Schengen Member States and covers the entire period of the person's intended stay or transit with a minimum coverage ofEUR 30 000.

‒ the proof of financial means for your stay

 

In case of a short stay in Hungary:

‒ a completed visa application form,

‒ a valid passport with at least two blank pages,

‒ a valid Croatian residence card,

‒ 1 photo in colour, less than 3 months old with the same dimensions as usual for identity documents

‒ the proof of prepaid accommodation,

‒ the proof of means of transport,

‒ the proof of health insurance: European Health Insurance Card or travel medical insurance which is valid for the territory of the Schengen Member States and covers the entire period of the person's intended stay or transit with a minimum coverage ofEUR 30 000.

 

Hereby, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that the consul has the right to request further documents in addition to the above stated.

The visa fee is 80 euros. The visa fee is reduced to 35 euros for citizens of third-countries which have bilateral agreements with the European Union on simplified visa procedures. Please note, that if the application is rejected, the visa fee will not be refunded.
